1. 처음 2번은 영어 문장만 보여줍니다.
- 영어 문장만 듣고, 어떤 내용인지 생각하는 훈련을 합니다.
2. 교육부에서 지정한 중. 고등학생용 이상 영단어에는 개별 단어 뜻을 보여줍니다.
- 한국어로 표시된 단어 뜻을 보면서 영어 문장의 뜻을 파악하는 훈련을 합니다.
3. 마지막에 한국어 해설을 보여줍니다.

Once upon a time, there were many different animals living in a jungle. There were wolves, bears, and even tigers.
옛날, 정글에는 여러 가지 동물들이 살고 있었습니다. 늑대, 곰, 심지어 호랑이도 있었습니다.
One day, Father Wolf heard a strange crying sound in the jungle.
어느 날, 아빠 늑대는 정글에서 이상한 울음소리를 들었습니다.
He followed the sound and found a human baby in the middle of the forest.
늑대는 그 소리를 따라가다가 숲 한가운데에서 인간의 아기를 발견했습니다.
Father Wolf looked at the baby and thought, “This baby will die if he is left alone in the forest”.
아빠 늑대는 아기를 바라보며 "이 아기는 숲에 혼자 놓아두면 죽을 것"이라고 생각했습니다.
Father Wolf was a kind animal. He decided to raise the child in the forest.
아빠 늑대는 친절한 동물이었습니다. 늑대는 그 아이를 숲에서 키우기로 결심했습니다.
Father Wolf named the baby boy 'Mowgli', which meant “so cute and little.”
아빠 늑대는 이 남자아이의 이름을 '모글리'라고 지었는데, 이 이름은 "너무 귀엽고 작다"라는 뜻이습니다.
Mowgli lived with the wolves for ten years. During the ten years, he learned many things from his friends, Ballo and Bagheera.
모글리는 10년 동안 늑대들과 함께 살았습니다. 10년 동안, 모글리는 친구들인 발로와 바헤라로부터 많은 것을 배웠습니다.
Ballo was a brown bear and Bagheera was a black panther. Ballo and Bagheera taught Mowgli about the Laws of the Jungle.
발로는 갈색 곰이었고 바헤라는 검은 표범이었습니다. 발로와 바헤라는 모글리에게 정글의 법칙을 가르쳐 주었습니다.
They taught Mowgli to speak politely to bees and to warn the water-snakes before diving in the river.

Mowgli learned to speak to every animal in the forest thanks to Ballo and Bagheera.

Mowgli also learned how to hunt from Father Wolf. When Mowgli was not learning, he played with his friends.
또 모글리는 아빠 늑대에게서 사냥하는 법을 배웠습니다. 배우지 않을 때는 친구들과 놀았습니다.
Mowgli was growing up happy and healthy in the forest. However, a terrible thing happened one day.
모글리는 숲속에서 행복하고 건강하게 자라고 있었습니다. 그런데 어느 날 끔찍한 일이 벌어졌습니다.
The leader of the wolves became ill. The other wolves started to worry and get scared.
늑대의 우두머리가 병이 났습니다. 다른 늑대들은 걱정하기 시작했고 겁을 먹기 시작했습니다.
Ballo and Bagheera were also scared.
발로와 바헤라도 겁이 났습니다.
They worried that if the leader of the wolves died, a bad tiger named Shere Khan would come to the jungle.
늑대의 우두머리가 죽으면 세레 칸이라는 나쁜 호랑이가 정글에 올까 봐 걱정되었습니다.
If the wolf leader died, who would protect Mowgli from Shere Khan?
만약 늑대 우두머리가 죽는다면, 누가 세레칸으로부터 모글리를 보호할 수 있을까요?
Who would protect the animals in the forest? Bagheera called Mowgli to tell him about 'Red Flower'.
누가 숲속의 동물들을 보호할까요? 바헤라는 모글리를 불러 '붉은 꽃'에 대해 말해주었습니다.
“Some of the other animals hate you because you do not belong in the jungle,” Bagheera explained to Mowgli.
바헤라는 모글리에게 "동물 중 일부는 네가 밀림 속 일원이 아니기 때문에 너를 미워한다."라고 설명했습니다.
“They hate you because you are wise and because you are a human.”
"그들은 네가 똑똑하기도 하고, 인간이기에 너를 싫어해."
“My dear Mowgli, go to the houses in the town where humans live and pick the 'Red Flower'.”
"사랑하는 모글리야, 인간이 살고 있는 마을 집에 가서 '붉은 꽃'을 따라."
“The flower will make you become very strong.” The 'Red Flower' that Bagheera talked about was actually fire.
"꽃은 너를 아주 강하게 해줄 거야." 바헤라가 말한 '붉은 꽃'은 사실은 불이었습니다.
All the animals in the forest were afraid of fire. Mowgli did as he was told.
숲속의 모든 동물들은 불을 무서워했습니다. 모글리는 시키는 대로 했습니다.
He went to the town and brought fire back to the jungle. However, the leader of the wolves said, “I am old and I will die soon.”
그는 마을에 가서 정글에 불을 가져왔습니다. 그러나 늑대의 우두머리는 늙어서 곧 죽을 것이라고 했습니다.
“Mowgli is a human and he must go back to the town where humans live.”
"모글리는 인간이야, 인간이 살고 있는 마을로 돌아가야 해."
Mowgli and his friends were very sad. Mowgli cried and tears rolled down his cheeks.
모글리와 친구들은 매우 슬펐습니다. 모글리는 울어서 눈물이 볼을 타고 흘러내렸습니다.
Bagheera comforted him. “You must go away now. But we shall never forget you.”
바헤라는 그를 위로했습니다. "이제 가야 돼. 그래도 우리는 결코 너를 잊지 않을 거야."
“I will return to the jungle,” said Mowgli. “Please don’t forget me! Tell everyone to remember me!”
"나는 정글로 돌아올 거야."라고 모글리는 말했습니다. "제발 나를 잊지 마! 모두에게 나를 기억하라고 해!"
Mowgli went to the town with a heavy and sad heart. Mowgli went to the town to live with humans like him.
모글리는 무겁고 슬픈 마음으로 도시로 갔습니다. 그와 같은 인간들과 함께 살기 위해서 모글리는 마을로 갔습니다.
However, the people looked at Mowgli strangely. Mowgli was acting like an animal, not a person.
그러나 사람들은 모글리를 이상하게 바라보았습니다. 모글리는 사람이 아니라 동물처럼 행동하고 있었습니다.
No one welcomed him except Messua. She remembered Mowgli when he was a baby.
메수아 외에는 아무도 그를 반기지 않았습니다. 그녀는 모글리가 아기였을 때를 기억합니다.
Mowgli lived with Messua in the town, but Mowgli did not like the town.
모글리는 마을에서 메수아와 함께 살았지만, 그 마을을 마음에 들지 않았습니다.
He did not like wearing clothes or living in a house. Mowgli missed the jungle very much.
그는 옷을 입거나 집에서 사는 것을 좋아하지 않았습니다. 모글리는 정글을 매우 그리워했습니다.
Then one day, the wolf leader and other wolves came to the town to see Mowgli.
그러던 어느 날, 우두머리 늑대와 다른 늑대들이 모글리를 보기 위해서 마을에 내려왔습니다.
The leader said, “Shere Khan is on the mountain. He is coming to kill you. You must hide.”
우두머리 늑대는 말했습니다. "세레 칸이 산속에 있어. 그 놈이 너를 죽이러 올 거야. 숨어야 돼."
“No, I am not going to hide again,” said Mowgli.
"아니, 다시는 숨지 않을 거야."라고 모글리가 말했습니다.
He was very brave. He went to the mountain to fight Shere Khan.
모글리는 아주 용감했습니다. 그는 세레 칸과 싸우기 위해 산으로 들어갔습니다.
After some time, Mowgli came back to the jungle ofter successfully defeating Shere Khan.
잠시 후 모글리는 세레 칸을 성공적으로 물리치고 정글에 돌아왔습니다.
“Mowgli, you are a brave and wise brother,” said the wolves. They welcomed Mowgli back to the jungle.
"모글리, 너는 용감하고 현명한 형제야," 늑대들이 말했습니다. 그들은 모글리가 정글에 돌아온 것을 환영했습니다.
“Mowgli, let's all live together in the jungle.” All his friends were happy to live together with him once again.
"모글리, 우리 모두 정글에서 함께 살자." 그의 친구들은 모두 그와 다시 한번 함께 살게 되어 기뻤습니다.
