(야수의 어릴적 모습)
작은 시골 마을에 아버지를 모시고 살고 있는 젊은 여성 이름은 벨(배우 : 엠마 왓슨) 입니다. 마을 처녀와 달리 책을 좋아하고 넓은 세상을 동경하는 그런 여성입니다. 그리고 마을 가까이에 숨겨진 장소에 커다란 성이 있고, 이 성에는 저주받은 왕자와 시종들이 살고 있습니다. 결국 젊은 여성과 야수가 사랑하게 된다는 이야기를 소재로 만든 영화입니다.
하지만, 1991년 애니매이션으로 개봉된 영화를 2017년 실사를 기반으로 해서 재 상영하게 됩니다. 디즈니의 익숙해진 2D 애니를 3D로 만든 시도가 넌센스에 가깝습니다. 영화 내용이 전혀 현실과 무관한 상상의 세계속인데, 현실적 인물을 등장 시키게 되자, 감정 이입이 안됩니다. 여러가지 면에서 많이 아쉬운 영화 중 하나입니다.

이 영화는 영어 공부용 교재로 사용하기에도 보통 이하입니다. 시대 배경이 중세를 기반으로 하기에 단어들도 약간 어렵습니다.
