에피 1에서 본, 너무나 착하게 생긴 부부의 남편은 사실 정부(county) 회계사로 일하던 중 아주 큰 금액을 횡령합니다. 그리고 사울은 이 둘의 변호를 따고 싶어 합니다. 그러나, 사울은 일개 초라한 변호사이기에 큰 사건 수임을 할 수 없습니다.
그래서, 그는 동네에 건달들과 함께 자동차 자해 공갈단을 조직해서, 회계사 부부로부터 변호를 수임하고자 꾀를 냅니다. 그러나 고의로 사고를 낸 자동차 주인은 회계사 부인이 아닌, 마약 갱단의 할머니 차량입니다. 결국, 변호사 사울과 건달 2명은 갱단 두목에게 죽을 위험에 이르나, 간신히 사울이 협상을 해서 목숨만 살려냅니다.
아직까지는 초반이라서 그런지 극 전개가 재미 위주로 구성되어있습니다. 어쨌든 사울의 특징을 잘 보여주는 에피입니다.
3. 드라마에서 배울만한 영어 어휘
스크립트 1번 fender bender는 가벼운 추돌 사고를 의미합니다. 인명 피해는 없지만, fender가 bend된 사고를 말한다고 합니다.
4번 brace는 버팀대를 뜻합니다. embrace를 연상하면 되나요?
5번 treasurer은 회계원을 뜻합니다. accountant와 차이점은 아래와 같습니다.
