슈퍼 배드의 내용은 생각이 안나고, 귀여운 악당, 미니언만 생각나는 영화입니다. 외눈 미니언, 두눈 미니언 얼핏보면 다 비슷하지만 조금씩 다른 외모를 가진 개체입니다. 특히, 나쁜짓을 너무 좋아하는 성격입니다.
단순한 캐릭터, 노란색 얼굴, 이상한 행동을 하는 새로운 귀여운 악당을 보는 재미가 있는 영화입니다.
3. 영화에서 배울만한 영어 어휘
제목 despicable me에서 사용된 단어 despicable은 '비열한' 뜻이 있습니다. 저는 사실 처음 보는 단어로 매우 생소한데, 이 단어가 사용빈도 높은 단어라고 합니다. (Popularity: Top 20% of words) 이 영화가 나오기 전부터 실 생활에서 자주 사용하는 단어인지, 아니면, 이 영화 영향으로 사용 빈도가 높아진 것인지 알지 못하지만, 이 영화를 보게 되면 despicable이란 어려운 단어를 본인것으로 만들 수 있습니다.
그리고, despicable me란 문장도 직관적으로 이해할기 쉽지 않은 형태입니다. 제가 쉽게 이해할 수 있는 문장은 'I am despicable.'입니다. 즉, bad boy와 같은 영어 표현은 쉽게 이해 할 수 있지만, bad me는 이해하기 어렵습니다. bad me의 일반적인 표현은 I am bad.이기 때문입니다. 즉, despicable me를 굳이 한국어로 해석하자면, '비열한 나' 또는 '나는 비열해' 표현이 될 수 있으나 역시 어색합니다. 이 영화를 한국어 제목으로 바꾸기 위해서 영화 배급사에서도 같은 고민을 하지 않았을까 합니다. 그래서, despicable me를 한국어로 번역하지 않고, 영화 내용을 중심으로 해서 '엄청난 악당'으로 결정하고, 세련되게끔 다시 영어로 바꿔서'super bad'로 정한듯합니다. despicable me도 이상하고, bad me도 이상하며, i am bad는 영화 제목으로 너무 임팩트가 약해서, 결국 super bad가 되지 않았을까 추측합니다.
